EARLY TREATMENT

The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) recommends that all children have a check up with an orthodontist around age 7. Not every child needs early treatment. However, there are some bite problems that need to be corrected at an early age in order to promote normal dentofacial growth and development, to reduce the severity of problems, and to avoid damage to teeth, gums, and the temporomandibular joint (TMJ).
